When: Weekend of June 15

June 8th-14th: Hot Rod Power Tour. A small group of us are already going, more are welcome.

Friday night - Option #1: Meet us at the final stop for Power Tour at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH and cruise back to my place
--------------- Option #2: Arrive at my place after 6pm (I am still working out the timing)
Saturday - The most fun, and a bonfire
Sunday - Relax, but still fun, stuff.
Monday - Late departures
Tuesday - Crack of dawn departurs

Where: SE Michigan.

Sleeping accommodations: Tents. I am working on clearing some extra space inside in case of weather.

Showers: Bring your own stuff, guest bathroom has 1 shower.

Food: Same as usual. Bring your meat! Planning to have a smoker, turkey fryers, etc..

Other: Bring bug spray. Lots and LOTS OF BUG SPRAY.

Photos: yes? I keep saying I'll have a cruise/photo location or something but then it's like too much work and we all just want to hang out and stuff, so...

-------------

Some of the things I'd like to do this year:
-Drink lots and lots of beer. Then make boost noises that anger the neighbors!

-------------

I will have beer kegs going again, and project updates probably

-------------

Tim will be an official event. Signs, tents, and everything!

I dont have any concrete menu plans yet, but I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do this year.

No new implements this year, but since it was such a big hit, the turkey fryer is coming back. If you missed the meet last year, you missed some really delicious turkey. I think this year Im going to go a different direction with the fryer. I'll be bringing the smoker back, as usual.

If you are curious about the meat selection, you'll just have to show up to the meet to find out what Im bringing. Its pretty likely I'll have multiple coolers like last year.

BE THERE!

I can't do Power Tour (money and time off would be problems), but I will be there for the weekend. I will be riding with the official event. Tim will be bringing more deliciousness again.

We shall be there, probably Friday evening to Sunday. At this point not sure what we'll take up there, hoping the 92 SSE is done and safe to drive by then. We have many backups if not though.

I'm not bringing anything for myself to work on this year, so I can partake in much more of the food eating.

I can't fully commit at this time because of how far away it is, but I should be there from Friday evening to Sunday morning.

Will probably bring the S2k again for top down noisy shenanigans and possibly a Ryan Cwik.

I almost think Matt brought this up now so I'd start stocking my freezer full of meat. Last year, my freezer was full of stuff that mostly was for the meet.

The key is to look for things on sale. I got a great deal on the pork shoulder and turkeys I brought to last years meet. Probably saved close to $50 by getting things on sale.

If you're serious about this, keep it on ice until the week of the meet. Then stick it in a cooler with some ice. It'll do whats called a cold water thaw. It takes a couple days to thaw them out. I pulled mine out the week of the meet and kept them on ice. The key is to not let the temp get too low on them. The turkeys have to be completely thawed by the time you stick them in the fryer. The cooler method worked out pretty well, I thought.

If you score one, let me know. I have no problem being meat czar. I'll set a reminder in my phone to bump you on putting in a cooler the week of the meet, so we can get it thawed out and ready in time.

I wonder if we can convince @crash93ssei to bring his smoker down, if he can make it this year.

Tim, since you're not on the Book of Faces right now, Ryan Toth says he won't be making it this year. He has to work and do adult things.

Just wanted to get a better idea of how much meat to bring. I know there was talk about frying a turkey, which Im game for. I've also got a couple of things in mind to bring. No big surprises this year though. Havent had the time to really plan anything out or the money to make it happen.

This year is looking like ~20 people, give or take. My budget is pretty tight as well, though I have a turkey fryer to donate to the cause. One unfortunate thing though, the grille is off limits this year. Turns out it had a gas leak underground and DTE come out to shut it off (long story, their line was leaking by the road, and my meter needs replaced, and they won't allow for the side tap thing that the grille is attached to anymore).

Right now I have meat for a couple of meals, covering probably Friday evening and Saturday. If we still want to fry a turkey, Im ok with that, but unless I bring it, it'll need to be thawed and ready for brine by the time I get there. Based on last year, two turkeys would be better for that many people.

As of right now, I have 12 lbs of wings and 15 lbs of pork shoulder. Smoker's going back together either tonight or tomorrow and will do a test run this weekend.
