Planning to leave tentatively May 5

Heading south down I5.

Laura's priority is Napa Valley.

I like Monteray and the six mile tour.

San Diego is nice at that time of year.

Definite stop overs along the way.

Corvallis

Sacremento

San Fransisco

LA

......maybe even a little east to Arizona, depending on how things progress.
Sure would like to visit Firebird Raceway.

We'll be taking our twin laptops along for the ride and plan to download plenty of pics along the way.

I have plenty of Honey-Do items around the house to do this month and Victor is coming home for the last two weeks of April so this notice should provide my hosts plenty of time to prepare for our impositions. :beerchug:

This will be the longest trip for this Bonne. It will be a true test for the reliablity of all the mods. The electric water pump worries me. I carry the original in the trunk. I plan to pulley up to 3.4" and adjust timing depending on available fuel octane. I'll need a couple gallons of Methanol for the water injection just for those few very hot days in Arizona and Cali.
Maybe I should invest in a portable aluminum jack.
:laughing3: If I had to bring everything I'd need to do an engine job plus our luggage I'd have no room for the wine cooler and beer fridge. :)

I'm glad the dollar is almost par.

Oh, I almost forgot.

The Bullet plans to leave it's signature at all the landmarks......in particular certain members residence front roadway. :booty:

Paul,
You have to get off of the Hwy(I-5) to see the good stuff, so I would like to suggest this site
http://www.pashnit.com/
Pay the $20 for the pic's and write-up of the roads(California only) and get off of the BIG Hwy's.
Here is one road to take
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... 18109&z=10

I know I am only 2 hours north of Bill, but you are always welcome to stop here. We could even meet up somewhere for lunch. Let me know about what time you would be heading through here and I can meet you just off I-5 since I am not very far from it.

Enjoy the tripand have a good time.

The monterey area is beautiful. The six mile drive is worth every penny, including the break for breakfast at Pebble Beach.

I've done the trip before with my wife when we were married 25 years ago.......in my Firebird.

We're really looking forward to it. Might leave a week later but should know for sure in a couple weeks.

I'd like to take our time and meet up with as many as possibe along the way. We like to pee stop & snack every 2 hours anyways. :beerchug:

If we can plan a night over to help with Hotel bills, that would be great too but we don't want to impose. We gift the traditional bed and breakfast fee.

:bpylons:

The storage insurance runs out on the Bullet on April 19. Rain should subside by then. It needs a clean up to remove six months of garage dust!

Plans are morphing daily.

Now it looks like we will be leaving on May 13.
If we leave on the 7:am Ferry, we should make the border by Noon and Olympia by dinner. I usually like to stop there just off I5 at a Motel.
Matt, we could meet up the next day on Friday for lunch on the way to Corvallis.

Bill, we'll likely stay at the Best Western on Friday night. I want to take Laura shopping and touring Corvallis Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Tentatively leave Corvallis on Tuesday and make it to the Mt. Shasta area by evening.
I like to drive a leisurely 6 hours a day or a full tank of fuel, whichever comes first.

Wednesday to Napa Valley.
It's been 25 years since Laura and I honeymooned there.
Like to spend a few days there then cruise over to Sacremento to see the interior sights. I've only ever driven thru but never stopped there. Of course we'll visit the Rounds and have them sample our Napa Valley aquisitions. :beerchug:

Leave on Monday and drive back up. Home by May 28.

We're looking for warmth and since we live on the coast hwy 101 so we have no interest in the slow ocean hwy 101 drive north or south.
Counting on Sacremento weather being in the mid 70's and not mid 50's like on the coast.

3500 km or 32 hours drive time return should satisfy the urge.

Now you know the route.....open to suggestions.

Talked to Paul tonight. Local hotels are booked for Mom's weekend at OSU, but we have options.

If you're hitting Sacramento, you have to go to OLD Sac. That's my old back yard. I'll fill you in more when you get here.

Plans are morphing daily.

Now it looks like we will be leaving tomorrow on May 5.
The weather in Washington is thundershowers on Wednesday so we're thinking of holing up in Vancouver Wednesday night and crossing the border on Thursday morning.
We should make Olympia by dinner. I usually like to stop there just off I5 at a Motel.
The plan is to meet up with Matt on Friday for lunch at Fuddruckers on the way to Corvallis.

Turns out Mothers day is on Sunday  and there's some kind of "Beaver/Mother" event happening. All hotels are booked.
But I have options.
Tentatively leave Corvallis on Monday or Tuesday and make it to the Mt. Shasta area by evening.
I like to drive a leisurely 6 hours a day or a full tank of fuel, whichever comes first.

Wednesday to Napa Valley.

Like to spend a few days there then cruise over to Sacramento. I've only ever driven thru but never stopped there. Of course we'll visit the Rounds and have them sample our Napa Valley aquisitions.

Leave on Monday and drive back up. Home by May 21 before our Victoria day long weekend.

Confirmed stay at the Tulalip Resort Hotel in Washington tomorrow!
King room in the Penthouse suite on the top 12th floor!

We're not going to rush this trip. Plenty of time to relax and cruise. :beerchug:

Let's see how long it takes for the Bullet to get wet!
I rarely drive it in the rain and don't unless surprised by a weather change.
8-[

To heck with that for this trip. I know it's gonna get wet sooner or later. :sad5:

Thank goodness all the salt is off the road.
I have never driven it in that acid!! [-X

I will try to do daily updates and post some pics along the way.

I'm getting lucky tonight!!

Matt,
We are heading out tomorrow and ready to meet you and Wendy at 1:pm for lunch at Puddfukkers. You can text me if your plans change.
If it's raining in the morning, plans may change. If so, I'll let you know by text at 10:am when we plan on packing up to leave.

I can't believe how cheap the booze is down here!
Bottle of Yellow Tail Merlot is $18 in BC and only $6 here. :beerchug:

OMFG I'm getting too old for this kind of thing.

We sat at a table full of bikers and had a ball. Chinko de Mayo today. 4 Corona for $12. :beerchug:
