Hello all, Ive been stocking this forum ever since I started looking at H bodies.

A little about me, I have had 37 cars so far mostly german. Current car is a 2015 TDI Passat on air suspension.
And a D150 318 Magnum swapped to Carb
Ive had VWs, Mercedes, Porsche, BMWs, rn swapped 240Sx, Subarus, Ae86s, VOLVOS, Saabs, Audis, gone are my driving fast days I do low n slow now.

I ended up picking up a 97 lesabre limited With 148k miles on the clock. Car was dealer maintained and was a one owner vehicle. The one I bought it from was a older gentleman and with the car he gave me every service record since he got it about 4 inches thick of them.

He told me the car never has seen any snow or winters and was garage kept. He stated the trans was replaced 9 years ago and never really drove it much since then (according to carfax there has only been 9k miles out on the car since 2011) he said the car mostly just stayed in the garage. The car does not leak anything. Ac still works strong and all electronics work perfectly I mean this car looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. Minus some minor cracking on the dash and seats

The being said I have read about rust issues and it greatly concerns me I didn't see anything when I checked out the car the best I could but rust can form anywhere. Now that's not to say the car doesn't have a few minor things. For one, P0302 code I have diaged as a coil pack issue I was able to swap it with the 1-6 coil and the miss moved to p0306. Another is the radiator sprang a leak. Again not an issue. Reservoir looks like it's seen better got a new one and going to reverse flush the system. Ordered all new parts along with the dogbone (I am getting a very slight jolt when shifting at higher rpm but I may need the front trans mount still looking into this). I have put about 1k miles on it so far and the car rides super smooth the dynride was redone along with ac, brakes and lines. Vacuum is at -21 at idle no ac strong silent motor that starts instantly Everytime.

That being said.

I am planning to Lower the car. I got inspiration from a member on here that did custom coilovers on his bonneville. The thing looks amazing. But... I want to go lower.... Which is why I have ordered custom Air suspension for my car. (Turn around is 5-6 weeks) Managment wise I am unsure if I want to run Airlifts 3p like my VW again or just go manual this time around. I don't know how to post photos I have not been on a forum since 2008 lol.
But anyways it's 4am and I need some sleep was just poking through the forums and decided it was time I said hi. sorry for the rambling.

Nice. It'll be cool to see the Lesabre laid out.

From my experience, the axles start getting unhappy after 2-3" so I raised my whole drive train up.

I went out this morning and the car would not start I cycled thee key several times and heard the pump run every time. But noticed the gas gauge went from 1/4 toe straight empty. I assume the Pump is on the rear of the tank? the car is parked facedown a hill so i asume the fuel is not reaching the pump. Ill get fuel later and see.

I cant wait to drop it. My question is tho do you know of a shorter shock to run on the rear? Any recomendations?

Thanks!

That's a clean rig. Is it a southern car?

This is stretching my memory a bit.. to 2008/9, but there was a guy SteveX on the LesabreT forum (that I think doesn't exist anymore) that used a front Koni shock from an 82-92 F-body in the rear of his Lesabre T. The knuckle bolt pattern was the same but he had to make extensions for the shaft for it to be long enough to work.

The car is from Virginia. Richmond to be exact.
I am super happy about the rust situation I wan't to get it undercoated or protected.

Got all the parts in today found out my gas gauge is a little off. Car runs like a top now no issues!
Thermostat gasket turned to dust but everything is good now. Can't wait to get her dropped.

I'll have to look into those shocks for the rear appreciate the tip!
