Year and Trim: 1991 Bonneville SSE
Hello Everbody.
I'm Mike from Germany. Nice to meet you.

Since a couple of days I'm a proud owner of a white 1991 Bonneville SSE

Here in Germany it is quite rare and outstanding car.
I found one in a quite good condition. Low milage, no bigger damages seen. Original coating in good condition. And some nice specs.
But the car is not perfekt. The headlining is hanging down, the compass and DIC are not working. Taillight lenses are no longer pretty.
And maybe some other "under surface stuff" will popup later.

I'm a big fan of cars of the 80s and 90s, especailly the underdogs and outside the (European) mainstream cars.
I'm driving old cars since I have a drivers license. I own more than one vintage car.
So basic knowledge is there, but still... And often I stand in my own way, without seeing it.

From experience with other american cars: I know that looking for spare parts and troubleshooting will drive me crazy.
The German way of solving problems or finding spare parts is completely different from the American way.
We have no Junkyard-Gold, because the car is to rare.
Additional the English terms are sometimes not entirely familiar to me. Also, my English is rather so-so.

So even some questions, or sentence may sound stupid: please be patient with me.

regards

Welcome! Its very cool to hear about another Bonneville overseas.

If you're passing TUV, it must still be in good shape.

I would love to see some pictures if you can.

Welcome to the forums Mike! As said above, would love to see some photos. You can host them on Imgur and then paste the IMG codes here.

Hey,

of course it passed tüv. Otherwise is would be senseless in Germany.

It also passed the 'historic valuable' goods test. That is a minimum requiery for a special road licence. It needs to be in a specific condition. Now I pay less tax fees, and I am allowed to drive throug environmental zones.

Here it is pretty rainy and I got a cold. So please be patient with the pictures. They will come...

The forum used to have tons of action. It's quieted down a lot since the car hasn't been made in almost 20 years.

Shure, but because it is so old, more DIY user should be online. How about the vintage fans?
I knew it from other cars I have. But maybe that is a difference between Germany and States.
