Hello~ new to the site and hoping to get some answers. My 2005 Bonneville GXP a/c is a problem child. I've replaced both actuators and the control panel, if I hit the auto button it will turn a/c on and run cool but only for a few minutes then it goes hot. Do not know what else to try.. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

Can you verify if the AC Compressor switches off when the air goes hot?

HI nos4blood70! Thanks for asking. The compressor stays on and the lines under the hood are cold even when it goes to heat.

We sold the Bonneville Tuesday. The new owner is thrilled and I miss her already. My problem was the temperature sensors were not plugged in. These were located in the upper dash (there are also two in the lower dash cover panels right above your feet-on each side of vehicle). I had to take the glove compartment box out and reach up in there and plug it in. On the driver side you pull out the fuse cover (open door and look in door jamb) and pull out the round tube that carries the air to the door and reach up in there and make sure it is plugged in. This system must get feedback from the sensors to operate properly. I also bought a few new heater control panels thinking that was my problem because they are known to fail. As it turned out they were both working. These heater control panels are hard to find. I still have one laying in the garage. If you take your time and study the operation of the actuators to ensure they are doing what they are supposed to do, check to make sure all temperature sensors are in place and plugged in and narrow it down to what is actually failing you can figure it out. Good luck, show them who you are, go fix that beast!
