Year and Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SLE
Hello all-
I am sure you all have heard this before, long time Pontiac guy, family been into Pontiac for 40 plus years.
Have owned several nice pieces, especially Bonneville's.
Just sold a nice GP GTP from 2004. Low mile.

I am looking for a 2000-2003 Bonneville SSEi with lower miles and rust free. It is a needle in a haystack no question.
Rust is a issue with these cars, from front supports to trailing supports & lines. You name it , I have seen it on these.
GXP model may be ruled out because of problematic N* engine. Scare's the crap out of me on the repair end as 3.8 is easier to service & work on.

My elderly, retired Dad, has a 2000 SLE , 85k on it. Loves it , refuses to give it up which is awesome. Original owner.
My mother has a '95 SE GP with 33k on it. Original owner.
Nothing but Pontiac's forever.

I have owned (2) 1979 Bonneville's. One a Landau Sport Coupe. The other a beloved Safari wagon.
Also owned a '87 SE Bonneville briefly and a '95 SE Bonneville in college.

Look forward to being on the board here, contributing.
Anyone spot a nice one, let me know please.

Take care
Pete

Welcome to the club!

For a low mileage and rust free car, be prepared to pay a premium and potentially have to travel across the country for it.

Check with Andrew over at Bonnevilles Unlimited. He typically flips these vehicles, but may have something that is in nice shape.

Talked with Andrew yesterday, and pretty much had a quick discussion about the hunt for a SSEi, and the issues with the N* motors.

Problem I am having is that there is a nice GXP near me, needs few cosmetics, but low low miles. It drove so darn nice and heavy , such a different feel and sound, experience than a SSEi.

It's a agonizing decision as most would say a GXP would not make a dependable daily driver, yet we see lots of DTS on the road with miles, so go figure?
Prepare for the inevitable is how the discussion was left at if I purchase a GXP, get the stud kit, be ready.
Also that every thing that can leak will.
Kind of bums me out because they are really nice cars when all is well
