Hello out there in Bonneville Land.

My wife bought a 2000 Bonneville SLE a year ago here near Clearwater, Florida, and it is just a gorgeous car in Arctic White, with a gray leather interior and all of the options. It looks perfect and was a one owner car with 144,000 miles on it.

For whatever reason, I had never noticed the 2000-2005 Bonnevilles before, but as soon as I saw this one I fell in love with the timeless body style. It looks to me a lot like a big BMW, something classic that will stand the test of time. We get a lot of compliments from people who see it. It rides nicely and has plenty of pep for such a big car. Even though it's now 16 years old, we both have a sense of pride getting into the car in public.

I can see why there is a Bonneville Club in support these great looking cars, and now I have joined you all in support of these classically beautiful cars.

The only problems so far is that it very recently, in the last month,

1. has a driver's power window stuck up (I just got a Dorman motor and Regulator from Amazon ($57) and plan to put it in when the local Tropical Storm ends, and

2. It started leaking water inside from places yet unknown. I have been diligently reading the forums here and picking up the acquired and hard-earned wisdom of you men here who have worked through these Bonneville problems before, and will be looking at the A/C evaporator hose, the door panels, and the sunroof drains. It's been a long time since I worked on a car, but I am sure it will come back to me as I get into it.

The leak is puzzling, as it just started one month ago and it varies. The first time was after driving through some deep water during a sudden rain storm, with the right rear floorboard carpet wet, which I vacumned dry. Later on, the front passenger carpet floorboard was soaked, but the rear was dry. Last night I laid paper towels on the floor to try to see the source of the leak, but all was dry this morning even with a good rain last night.

I'd appreciate any tips on the above, as I must fix these problems quickly to keep this Bonneville looking new and running great.

Thanks for letting me join your club,

J.J.

welcome to the club

since your leaks happen when driving, I would suspect some entry in the floor

It could be the same issue I had. It would get wet on the side that was biased downwards...the sunroof seal was letting in TOO MUCH water and over running the drains.
