Year and Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi V6 3.8
Hello and thank you already ha ha
My name is Alex. My vehicle is a 2000 Bonneville SSEi 3.8 w/ the Eaton M90. This motor blew up the day after I bought it with about 200k miles on it. I still don't know why as I have not dis assembled the short block - crank will not turn. I have torn down the same engine from a 98' gtp which i had for two months prior - ending in the woods at 60 mph..

So first things first! I am working on a basic rebuild of the gtp engine to place in the Bonneville. Then I will have the engine from the ssei to work with. I'm going for a 10-2-1 ratio with this in the future. I will not claim to know more than I do. I can bore and raise pistons - not sure how i'll get around all that space above the pistons to achieve 10 - 2 - 1.. Or maybe this is a really dumb idea! But I'm sure you'll all let me know soon enough.

Later in the future I'd like to swap things to rear wheel drive. Possibly ran by one or two different 3800 set ups, and eventually a 5.7 vortech set up :bwoohoo:

The gtp had the performance shift option, the ssei does not. I have the transmissions for both vehicles.. I'd like to install the gtp transmission in the bonneville, besides swapping the pcm - how can I hook things up to access the performance shift option?

I need to figure out where I'm day dreaming and what the possibilities are with these highly potential setups!!!

Welcome!

A couple of members here have raised the compression in their motors, and one other has added a performance shift to their 2003. So you're not on your own.
