I recently picked up a '93 Park Avenue Ultra, and since the drivetrain is similar to the Bonneville I thoguht I'd drop in here as a member. It's in great shape inside & out, except for the rear bumper has rust on the top of it for some reason.
The car is actually for my son who is learning to drive, my thought is to put an inexperienced driver behind the wheel of something that is durable as it is safe. I fear for kids whose parents find a tiny car for them to learn to drive in. The difference in the price of the larger car or more gasoline for it pales in comparison to the price of safety.
We now have two supercharged cars in the family, the other is a '97 Mustang Saleen #26B, and no my son, you won't be driving that one for another 10 years.
Have a Venture van as my DD, it's spartan but functional. I roll up (and down) the windows by hand as well as lock the docks by manually flipping the lock buttons.
Other members of the family are working on Acadia #2, Acadia #1 was bought back by GM under the lemon law & I just found out they resold that car to someone else.
Will try to add photos when I get time.

Welcome to the forum... You have come to the right place..

That Buick can be turned into a mean screaming corner carving Grandpa car... But don't tell your son that...LMAO..

Don't feel bad... My daily driver is a 95 Transport... Too functional to let it go, so it got modded...LOL

The Acadia is one of the most comfortable cars you'll even ride in. The cabin has a minimum of wind & tire noise.
Nice seats too. I'm not sure on actual gas mileage with the 3.6, but I'm sure it's not quite as good as my old '92 Lumina APV with the 3800. :)
I'm told the Acadia has more sound insulation than the Traverse, but I haven't driven the Chevy version to compare the two.

Check out the Buick Enclave too. Those are extremely comfortable and quiet. My wife drives a Rainier which is also a very nice ride and we looked at the Enclaves when her lease was up, but in the end we ended up getting a really good deal (no thanks to GM) buying the Rainier outright.

Right around the corner from you in Mundy Twp. Bought the Acadia from Al Serra.
(actually Joe Serra's place, but you know that already ;) )
The only drawback to the Acadia so far is first thing in the morning it's a little loud, that may be due to the power steering growl and the fact it's inside the garage. Inside the car it sounds fine.
As far as carving corners in the Park Avenue, I'll have to work on that one, starting with new Monroe struts & springs in the front very soon. Probably rear ones as well and then get an alignment and see we where we go from there.
As long as it still rides like a Buick I'll be happy.

If you replace the struts and springs you could use MOOG or TRW springs to F41 spec if you want a little more handling from the Boat...lol

we will be able to answer what ever it is you would like to know on that one...lol

Jrs3800, I like what you've done to the Transport. Too bad Pontiac didn't build 'em like that!
I just need to find time to install the springs/struts, I bought them as a quick strut package for the front but haven't picked out any for the back yet. I'm open to recommendations.

The only thing we don't like about the quick strut is that they come with the coil springs on them( for the front of the C and H bodies )... In some cases the spring you get could be stiffer or softer than what you already have...

The Park Ave Ultra could have the Soft ride or it could have the Touring suspension ( F41 in most cases )

There is an RPO label in your trunk on top of the spare tire cover, Look and see if you have FE1, FE2 or F41..

also do you have the keyless entry Fobs for it?

I have the original door/trunk fobs, but the previous owner had a remote starter installed so for now I'm not using the original fobs, rather the aftermarket fobs.

Welcome!!

You shouldn't listen to Jrs3800. I mean c'mon, who mods a 1995 TransPort minivan? :beerchug:

(Just Kidding, he's a great guy)

BTW, that Buick will get better mileage than you think. Might not get what a Honda gets, but it'll hold its own with others. Your son is going to have wayyyy too much fun going WOT and hearing that M62 scream, though! Being an 18 year old, I know how that goes, lol.

I've having the Saleen computer re-tuned this spring, maybe I'll have him work some magic on the P/A computer so it won't exceed 45 MPH. :-)
Or buy him one of these>>>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9XAC-BvUyo

I was hoping to find a Bonneville as I think they are really good looking cars, but when this Buick came up on Craigslist in this good of shape I bought it. I think the fact I checked Craigslist two or three times a day on the weekends and bought it within 3 hours of the car being posted is the only reason I was able to buy it, plus it was during the gold medal hockey game and no one was leaving their TVs at that time except me.

In a weird twist of fate I knew the previous owner of the Buick as I had played basketball against him about 5 or 6 years ago.
