The hood ornament retainer on my 1998 Buick Park Avenue has broken. A new retainer (GM part # 25642494) sells for between $9 and $16 from outlets I've seen online.
However many places won't ship outside North America - I live in the UK. Those that do want $130 for shipping a 0:6 ounce part the size of my thumb.
Years ago I needed a tiny part for the 1986 Olds 88 I had at the time. I found someone on the ClassicOldsmobile forum willing to ship me the part via airmail. I mailed him the cash placed inside a greeting card, he acknowledged receiving it, then bought and shipped the part. I had sent more than enough cash to cover purchase and shipping (which wasn't much in the first place) and didn't want any change. This was a win/win, I got my part at much lower cost, and he had a few dollars for his trouble.

Anyone willing to take me up on this?

Looks like shipping using a Priority Mail small flat rate box would be about $31. Pricey, but better than $130, I reckon.
