It took 20 years and 209k miles, but the original waterpump on my 2003 SSEi finally gave up the ghost. I was dreading replacing the waterpump, thinking I'd have to shred the right front side of the car. But since replacement wasn't as miserable a job as I thought it would be, I figured I'd document the task for anyone else with waterpump woes. It's really not too bad a task and can be accomplished with some basic hand tools. If you find that your waterpump has gotten tired of your happy mass and has checked out, roll up your sleeves, get after it, and save yourself a few bucks.

My engine seems to be a lot quieter now! Go figure. :)

Nice. Not having to fudge around with the 92-99 torque axis mount is a huge bonus.

Yeah, that mount on the 92-99 adds an extra bag of cuss words to the event. The 00-05 (sans N*) is easy enough even an imbecile like me can handle it.

Nice dude! These OEM water pumps are doing the lord's work. Mine is original at 240k miles. I wonder how the little propeller looks haha

The propeller on mine was fine...the bearing is what gave up the ghost. Shaft was a bit wobbly allowing coolant to leak and the bearing was grinding a bit.
