So I tried to upgrade the halogen bulbs on the cluster of my 2003 Pontiac Bonneville and everything went good except the pad eye for high beam indicator is destroyed. But all the other new LEDs work. I figured I'd get another used cluster to make a comparison to finish the upgrade. But before I do I install the cluster to troubleshoot the high beam light indicator and now my gauges, my PRNDL, and my DIC will not work. I would appreciate some help if anyone has any ideas?

So your cluster is completely dead? I had this happen, turned out to be some bad solder joints in the cluster. When I pushed on it, it would come back to life until the next big bump.

Has to be more to it than that. Maybe a cold solder joint on a stepper motor circuit, but all of them and the PRNDL, and the DIC?

Where can I get a replacement for Q5 on the instrument cluster? I broke the transistor while trying to modify the board. The old transistor says 6300 n245. I'm having trouble finding a replacement online.

I would message Andrew here, screen name harofreak00, or look up Bonneville Unlimited and get a whole new rebuilt cluster from him.

Does anyone know how to program the mileage into the instrument cluster?

You need to swap the chip under the rear cover of the gauge cluster.

Any more detail? The replacement SSEi I picked up had an instrument cluster that was gonzo - some lights, mostly errors and gibberish. I swapped in the cluster from my wrecked one, but if swapping the chip will give me the mileage accrued on the new car instead, that would be useful. Does the chip control anything more than the mileage?
