Hello all, been a very long time. First off, happy new year. Much has happened since I was last here. Rest assured my 96 Bonneville SE is still safely ensconced in the garage and now sports a new trannie (old one died at about 170K miles), a new paint job, and an interior face lift-new headliner, leather seat repairs, and a few trim replacements. Biggest issues are a leaky trunk (post paint job) and unreliable A/C, but Black Maria still runs like a top. She also had a new younger sister—Bunny, a 2017 Buick LaCrosse, which was purchased after I traded in a 2012 Dodge Charger RT. OMG, what a terrible car. NO MORE MOPAR. Anyway, Bunny sits quietly beside Black Maria in the garage and is, I hope, watching and learning from big sis. In other news, and I hesitate to mention this here, but I am now engaged to a former Ford mechanic. I sincerely hope this doesn’t invalidate my membership. While we don’t agree in the general GM vs Ford argument, he pays sufficient homage to Black Maria, cares for her with much love, is authorized to drive her (to the complete shock of family, friends, and neighbors), and has his own set of keys. Must be love. We definitely agree on one thing though-Dodges are crap.
