Can't really help, but I did buy a TPS from carquest that only lasted a month. It might be worth returning for a replacement. In my case (series 1) the engine died every time i touched the throttle.

Was it mounted properly? On some of them it's easy to get the lever of the tps sensor mounted on the wrong side of the lever on the throttle body.

It doesn't die until I'm trying to park and need to hit the gas a little..... I hate dealing with sensors ..... it drives the same for the most part except when it chooses to cut off...

if the tps resets ok, I would next test/inspect the IAC.

This is a case where you want to inspect the wiring, give it a wiggle while it's running and see if you have any problems. You should have a 5v reference and a ground wire, then a signal wire going to the computer.
