Working on my 1997 LeSabre again. 1998 4t65HD, 2002 L67, 1998 H-body NA harness with ZZP adapter to make it work with the L67. PCM is from the 1998 H-body, flashed and tuned for the L67.

Trans starts in 3rd gear, if you override it to 1st it feel like it starts in 2nd gear. Not sure what I could have missed during the rebuild, has all new electronics inside, and some upgraded hard parts. I doubt it's from the tune. There is a whining noise coming from something, sounds like it's under the supercharger. Not your typical transmission pump whine though, sounds like some weird lower pitched supercharger whine or something with an odd vacuum leak. Thoughts before I tear it open again? Trans was working before the refresh when I broke the input shaft. Not sure if the noise is related to the trans issue.

probably something isn't sealing properly. Did you do an air test on it to make sure that the clutches engaged?

I've heard this a few times now - knowing how the 4t65 works, each up shift is only engaging additional clutch packs. So All of the lower gear clutch packs are working if I have 3rd gear, right?
