Has anyone ever cut the flange off the flexpipe (stock downpipe) and considered welding it to an aftermarket DP? From what I see it could create some what of a bottle neck before entering the pipe as the flange is doubled walled, but will it hurt or be the same as running a stock flexpipe (downpipe)? The reason I'm considering this is that I hate the flex coupler on the downpipe and also since I have a w-body aftermarket downpipe it hits the firewall and create problems reversing so in order to make this clearance some of the pipe by the flange needs to be shorten.
