So, ground rules:

Please post about what you did, whether it's an oil change, brakes, LIM job, etc. Regular forum rules still apply, and if you have more than basic questions, please start a new thread in the appropriate section. We do still want to maintain some semblance of order. Also, if you want to make a full picture tutorial, please make your own post. Lots of pictures will make this slower to load.

With that being said, What did you do to your car today?

I looked at mine in the parking lot as I walked to my buddy's car. That was all, lol.

I diagnosed a bad harmonic balancer on Bonne today :( and replaced a burnt out fog light bulb.

2 weeks from now she gets an oil change, Transmission fluid change, Brake fluid flush, Harmonic Balancer replacement, 2 New tires, Freshly repainted passengers side mirror, And a Coolant flush.

Yes she's been a little neglected lately :(.

Guess "today" means Sunday. OP is after midnight and oddly Blown93SSEi's post is 25 minutes in the future.

Cleaned ice and snow off, again, and filled the gas tank even though it was still @3/4 tank. Winter maintenance?

Noticed glove box light didn't turn on either time was looking for something but did when putting it back. Grrr!

Drove it. Too cold to fix the borked trunk release or figure out my bixenon harness and lamp monitor.

Added two quarts of oil to the 'Burb. Old age and -0* temps on the valve stem guides on an SBC... I've smelled it the past couple of weeks starting it up in the morning. That and I've been working it hard, constantly plowing...

Drove it to school.

Not sure if the ISS is now superbly horrible, or my steering rack is going out. Or there's salt and crud everywhere in the moving parts.

Well, the Buick is parked until I can get the intake gasket fixed, but I changed the oil in Ashlee's Malibu, rotated the tires, and put a new air filter in it. I was going to wash it, but we're "supposed" to get more snow/sleet/rain starting tomorrow, so I figured I'd hold off until good weather. On a good note though, it's been 6,000 miles since her last oil change (per the car fax from when we bought it), and the oil still looked brand new before I changed it. I'm really happy with how the 2.0 is doing so far.

My car needs a thorough rinse inside and out, I can't wait for it to get warm.

Didn't the malibu have the 2.4?

Drove it around a bit. Has a weird 1-2 upshift. I think the fluid level is low but I've been adding a bit more at a time. And no, it doesn't have a dipstick.

Is it like our VW where you have to add it from underneath, and it drips out when it's full?

Let's see. I became very sad when I saw it this morning covered in salt and bird crap. Then I drove it to work.

I'm not even caring about maintenance until it gets warm. That failing pulley and leaking antifreeze will wait.

6L80's are the same way. No stick. You gotta check them while they're running by loosening the drain plug. If you get a stream of fluid, it's full. Don't do it off though, otherwise you'll take a shower.

Ish. There's a fill bolt but of course it's under the turbo and the only way to get to it is to break your arm and smash it thin. They did include a vent tube that you can fill through it albeit very slowly.

I measured the amount that came out and put the same amount back in plus a bit more because it has a weird drain plug within a tube that is also removable (plug within a plug) that drools then you put the smaller plug in. Anyway, I put a bit more back in to account for the amount that drooled out.

Finally added air to my tires - TPMS was complaining due to the pressure drop with cold weather.

Drove it to work. I imagine later I'll probably drive it home. Didn't so much as look at the truck, nor do I plan on it lol. Though I should at least start it up and make sure it isn't dead, been sitting for like a week and a half...

Ah. Ours is on the bottom. You remove the plug, then remove the inner tube, which sets the fill level. The fluid all drains out, then you reinstall the tube and refill, and when the fluid reaches the set level on the tube, it drains out till it's below the top of the tube. It's ingenious, but goofy as hell, all at the same time.
