This may not help but here are 3 pictures of the pre-production 2004 Bonneville GXP. I'm leaning towards MSG but they're just pictures

I don't mean to disagree, but, other than the non production wheels, that car looks like a standard production GXP compared to the prototype pictures I have seen before.

The grill is different and this car seems to sit a lot lower.
I'm open to an education, so if I'm off base, I'm willing to listen.
Thanks.

Mine has the 812 code on the spare tire well cover but it is definitely not Graystone Metallic.

Yep, I would agree yours is also Medium Spiral Gray.

After a second look, I also agree the first pics of the 'prototype' were MSG, but were not of the prototype.
The pics that Leon posted are the prototype (I think around 2002-2003?). I think even the fog light/grill area is larger.
That is definitely not MSG. I don't think that's even Graystone.

Here are the color chips I mentioned I would post

The first two are "Graystone" - WA213M.
The last 2 are Medium Spiral Gray WA812K.

Spiral Gray is the "real" color, Graystone is the name of that color
if your code on the label is WA213M

I was going through some photos and came across this one and found it interesting.
Just look at the difference in the paint from the hood to the fender, due to the lighting, (florescent), the angle of the picture, and I'm sure, the pearl in the paint.
I remembered this topic and thought I'd post this for the fun of it, not that it matters one way of the other.

Changes shades right at the body line. Almost looks repainted, but I'm sure it's the lighting.
Pretty neat.
