Ok this is how i see it so tell me if im wrong. 1,3,5 fire on the left bank and that would be the side next to the radiator. So that is the left head correct? The reason I ask is the head gaskets are labeled left and right. Thanks Dave

Yes the head towards the radiator is the left head.

Carl nailed it, but to help you better understand WHY, look at it like this.
Imagine your powertrain is sitting in a rear wheel drive platform, the transmission end of the engine would be at the rear, correct?
That makes the serp. belt drive end the front of the engine, making the head closest to the radiator the left head.

Also, don't get confused like I have seen others do, and that is, there is only ONE left to a car.
That is from the prospective of sitting in the drivers seat looking forward, and NOT by standing in front of the car looking under the hood.
When you are standing in front of the car looking at it, your left will the CARS right.

I hope this helps.

Leon

Yes it was very confusing at first but for kicks asked my son and he nailed it. He said he just put himself in the engine and thats how he figured it out. Blew my mind such a simple way of looking at it. Sometime I think we put to much thought into such simple questions. IMO
