Yes, that is the cruise module. But, you will need a different bracket. The cruise module on H-bodies replaces the vaccuum tank on the firewall.

EDIT: Forgot to ask, but did you also happen to grab the OBD2 port?

OBD2 port? not 100% grabbed a mess of stuff but to be honest not sure what that is.

So the stock vacuum box is no longer needed at all for the L67?

The obd2 port will be under the dash...where the scantool is plugged into. You will need that to read trouble codes, program the PCM, etc.

The vac tank is chiefly used for cruise and for HVAC operation...you will still need a vac tank for proper operation of the ac and heater system. So you can either keep that tank you have now, and find another way to mount the cruise control, or mount the cruise control like the 96-99 H-bodies do, and get a vac tank specific to those models.

As a request, can you post pics of your engine bay as it is now? This way, we can tell you what WILL need to go, what MIGHT need to go, and what to relocate.

I did not grab the OBD2 port #-o and i don't know why that didn't register when you asked, but I will run to the yard this weekend and get it. as for a pic here is what I have let me know if you need more. I have some of a guy who did a recent swap as well. I am trying to get a hold of him but with little luck.

Please say you are going to take care of that....cancer...under the hood when the old motor is out.

Those relays...what are they for?

Yes the plan is to yank the old motor take it to a friends shop to cure the cancer from firewall to front bumper (the rest later) and then put in the fresh motor.

The relays by the intake? I am almost positive they are engine fan relays.

They were originally on the air box but when I moved to the new intake I re mounted them there.

I have spoken with the member of the LesabreT.com board who has most recently done the L67 swap in to a T-type and come to a conclusion: I need a 97+ Bonneville. The Bonneville will be easier as far as wiring goes, not to mention I can use the axles, brakes, knuckles, computer and wiring, steering rack, sub frame if needed, and other random parts.

So I am now on the hunt for a SSEi 97+ (anyone know of one in the st.Louis area

Here is a link to the thread: http://www.lesabret.com/phpBB/viewtopic ... 98&start=0

Thanks,
Lee

PCM and wiring won't matter where they came from...PCM doesn't care what car it is in, so long as it is controlling a motor and a trans. Wiring won't matter because, well...it will have to be hacked up to fit your car anyways. Even if the wiring came from a Bonneville, you will still have to hack up the harness substantially in a swap like this.

Crossmember I can see, but I am betting you can use the existing member you have now. If not, you can use any Bonneville crossmember from 1992-1999, Buick LeSabre up to 97 I think (before the huge makeover), or even an Olds 88. As far as axles go, we will have to research to see if you can use the axles you got with the combo. Spindles...if the new axles fit them, use them if they are in good shape. No sense in buying stuff that you don't need.

What are you going to do with that LN3 when it comes out? I would be interested in some parts if you go that route. Let me know.

I was under the impression that because the h-bodies are more alike that the wiring would be more similar and require less hacking. I am going off what i was told be this other person. I am still unsure about the brakes and knuckles they may be usable along with the one axle (will need to get another #-o )

I am going to see my stock motor and trans once the swap is complete. I would rather not go through the hassle of parting it out.

There will be quite a bit of hacking to do regardless. Remember, your car has its PCM on the inside of the vehicle...your new setup will have it on the outside if you go the "stock" route. This means you will have to run wires to the inside cabin that normally will not be there...fuel pump, check engine, a/c stuff, and a few other wires. And even if you grab the engine to pcm harness, which connects at the firewall, and the dash harness, which connects to the dash and the other side of the firewall, you STILL have to hack wires to make it work with your dash. In a conversion such as this, there is no easy way. As I found out when I did my conversion...wiring up the engine is cake, as is the transmission. It's wiring up all the peripherals that will take the most time.

As far as PCMs go, a Bonneville PCM, though it is the same as what you have, will be easier to flash due to support being available for Bonneville calibrations. Think of it this way...who mods Buicks with PCMs? Besides you and a few other wingnuts, not a whole lot. That wasn't an insult BTW...just saying the demographics for modded Buicks are much lower than that of modded Pontiacs.

My advice to you when you start to wire this thing up is to STUDY. Keep as many circuits associated with your car intact as possible. This means oil pressure, temp, starting...in other words, any existing circuit that can monitor or control the new engines counterpart circuits. Am example of this is that S2s use a different system for starter and neutral safety than S1s and older. But that doesn't mean the older system will work just as well.

I know it has been a while since I posted on this, and that is because I have been working on getting all the random parts I needed not only for the swap but other things I plan on doing to the car. I figure I might as well do it all at once. I got a chance to snap a few (actually a lot) of pics of some of the goodies. We are getting real close to finishing the garage (I would say a week maybe two if we don't run in to any issues). Once the garage is worthy to work in I will start this up by gutting it then pulling the motor and sending it to the body shop. While it is at the body shop I will work on getting the motor and trans ready. Once it is back from the shop I will finish her all up. Well here are the pics, enjoy!

What is all of this you ask...
