Hey does anyone have the video and/or pdf file for rebuilding this transmission? Specifically, I'm looking for replacing the 1, 2 and 2,3 solenoids for now, but i also want to have a look at all potential problems. I've been working on this a week or so on the weekends. I have a 2001 Chevy Impala with the 4T65E transmission. Any help someone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I would be very great-full for a copy of the repair manual as well. i am a long time lurker and just signed up. (not allowed to PM yet). i'm finally going to try and do this re-build. thanks to "agrazela" and others who posted.

on a side note: my venture has 251k miles. i have been driving with the "bang" shifting for well over a year, and just recently lost over drive (3 months ago). coincidentally never came back after removing the battery to replace with a new one. i was secretly hoping the car would blow up so i could get a new one (Buick Enclave- although they have had some problems that are scary) but just cant seem to part with it. i have owned it since new. it practically looks new still.

other than typical wear and tear maintenance i have had to do the following:

manifold gasket @ 140k (managed to get dealer to pay 1/2)
head gasket @ 220k (friend of a friend mechanic did it for 1/2 of what everyone else wanted)
strut assembly 3 months ago and once before approx. 6 yrs ago. (payed for first one- did the 2nd myself)

i read about all the other complaints others have with the venture, but i can honestly say i have gotten my moneys worth from mine and now want the "bang shift" gone and the OD back. who knows maybe i can get another 200k out of her.

i figure re-build of the tranny is WAY cheaper than a car payment and besides i know this car inside and out. it has serviced my family well....its the least i could do.
