So the LIM job has been done, and I'm left looking for the last part to complete the job.

Removing this rubber tee from the manifold caused it to rip off the bottom portion of the tee, female, approx 1/4 inch inside. I'm sure this is a regular piece that needs replacement, but the dealer has informed me it is discontinued, so I'm looking at fabbing up an alternative with vacuum hose and a male tee if I can't find a suitable candidate from another source. I didn't have much success looking online, GMparts etc.

What sort of shops could I call here that might use this sort of fitting? It would be nice just to be able to pop one on instead of deleting the 2 hard lines come off of it as well.

Any tips appreciated. Cheers.

You could buy a generic T fitting and use vacuum hose to make "couplers"

That looks close but I think its a bit small.

After calling all around town, I can't seem to locate the soft female type tee, so it looks like I'm just gonna have to fab something with a hard tee and some vac tubing and call it a day.

That comes as part of the vacuum harness from the dealers. The thing that makes it odd is the 2 different sizes. Vacuum harness part number is 24508742 from GM.

I bought the little $1.65 pack of tees and made it work. Didnt look great though.

I feel like an idiot. When I started the vac disassembly, I wondered about the function of a capped tee by the fire wall. After realizing my oversight, I swapped in a piece of straight tubing and the tee fits perfectly. Can't believe I didn't remember till I had hit 3 parts suppliers trying to find one. Flushing assorted fluids today, but everything is looking good! feels good to have the girl back on her feet! I'll post pics when I'm not so greasy, if you guys haven't seen enough LIM pics yet.

For those of you following along at home; the "T" is no longer sold separately but is still available as part of a "vacuum harness" assembly which is still available (see part number above). The "harness" contains this tee and two other rubber vacuum fittings, as well as the hoses that connect them. If you need to replace your tee, the other rubber fittings might be in sad shape also, so the harness is not a bad option. If cash is tight, however, and you don't mind cobbling together a substitute, some members (including the original poster apparently) have managed to make their own tee out of aftermarket parts. If, however, you like to replace everything with stock replacement parts, this post is for you.

I actually just raided the tee which I believe is a diagnostic access as far as I can tell, so I didn't have to drop any $$$ for any part. Being away from the motor at the firewall, it was in way better shape, and still good, although it is a 14 year old original.
