My car is 97 Series 2. The Air compressor went out a month ago. What and where can I get the best Compressor and dryer.

You mean the Air Conditioning Compressor?

First thing to do is get the remaining R134a Refridgerant evacuated, then get a new Delphi compressor, dryer and orifice tube from Rock Auto. Do NOT get a reman compressor, they are junk.

Then replace it all, and have it vac'd out to remove the water and check for leaks, and re-filled with the proper amount of oil and refridgerant.

Folks in the trade call em 4 Siezens. The older R4's were the worst, some wouldnt last beyond charging and testing. This isnt the kind of job you want to do twice

They are rebuilt with poor quality materials. The first shop I went to installed a reman in my car, lasted a year. Second guy I went to and took the Delphi to said he just uses new ones to begin with, as he's seen nothing but problems with re-mans.
