Yeah, I drove a 97 LeSabre Limited (weight 3462 pounds, 3.06 gears) and it just wasn't all that fast...no way it could keep up with a stock supercharged car.

There are some factory freaks out there... Not exactly common... I am not sure where all of the numbers come from either...

The 03 getting beat by a 98-99 SLE is not correct... This should have never happened... Need to make sure that 03 SSEi is in good tune and that there are no issues and 0 KR....

95 was about the only freak year for NA's( GM did some strange crap with the L36's that year ), 96 was close but had a bit of Torque Management, 97 was a newer world and had more Torque Management( They were still freaky quick )... 98 -99 got a little slower with the 4T65E( Not the transmissions fault ) and even more Torque Management...

The 95 L36 had some freak tuning... Several have heard me talk about the chips in the 95 L36... Early production was recalled for what GM called driveability issues.... Most of the super early production was recalled but a few made it out with the odd ball tune... These cars had a 7ish second 0-60, and ran 15's... I also believe the tolerances in these motors were a tad lose..

Moving on...

The 98-99 SLE would have 3.05 gearing, not too far off from the SC 2.93... Both would force a shift at say 5500ish so you would have a 5700 ish shift... Now the 98-99 SLE is lighter..... But stock for stock the SC 00+ should walk it every time... Is his car Modded at all? My 95 Bonneville has not been stock for a long time.. If you had pitted me with a Freak 95 SLE SC, The 95 SLE would have walked on me, not without a fight tho, but it would have walked me...

Not sure what else to really add...lol

Just to note it.... The 95 SLE SC Bone stock runs a 15.1 in the 1/4... The Bonneville SE with a 3.06 would be in the 15.5 - 15.6 range...

Unless that 98-99 SLE was Modded, he should not have walked you...lol

just to be clear we didnt line up sise by side, he followed me down the ramp entering the highway and moved over to the far left lane and took off, I had a few cars to gett around before I could punch it, and I never seemed to be gaining on him before I had to exit the highway. He was at least a quartermile ahead before i could do anything. Maybe I should have chased him down to satisfy my ego.LOL

Well if he got a run on you then I could see what you are saying... The L36 does have some legs... My 1-2 shift is 49, my 2-3 shift is about 92.... If you guys lined up, you would have hurt his feelings... :beerchug:
