They were available in all colors, the most common color for the 40th's was Dark Cherry metallic. The original plan was to have all 40th's be Dark Cherry, that changed at some point before production.

It's not worth more than any other 97 SSEi in similar condition. It's a set of floormats, badges on the c-pillars and Y40 on the RPO tag. There was a low production run of them, but there isn't really a collector's market for them like a 35th Camaro or something like that...

If I would paint it would it hurt the value of the car and the reason I was asking this is cuz someone told me it was worth around 10,000 dollars that's why

For some reason I remember reading that the 40ths were only available in DCM, white, and silver... that's incorrect?

It's definitely not worth anywhere close to $10k. Depending on mileage or condition, maybe it's worth $2500, tops.

No offense but a little sentence structure would be nice. If I understand what you are asking......

No for you to do a paint job it would probably not affect the value at all (aside from increasing/decreasing the value a little depending on current condition of paint).

Also, I don't know of ANY 1997 SSEi that should be worth $10,000.
I would say the going rate is probably somewhere between $2000-$4000 depending on condition and mileage and such.
I have seen some SELL for $6,000ish. BUT these car had probably 70k or less and were near mint, like off the showroom floor.

Yes, they came in other colors, and the car is worth what it books in YOUR AREA via KBB.COM. It's not worth one dime more than standard book value for being a 40th. The only thing that car came with that other cars that year didn't were the C-Pillar 40Th badges, monogrammed floor mats, and code Y40 on the spare tire cover. Nothing else sets them apart, and none of this adds value. Production numbers for 1997 are listed in our Techinfo section.

I have a dark cherry metallic 97 SSEi 40th anniversary and if I could get 10k simply by painting it would be like winning a lottery. Tell the person that told you that you'll sell it to them for $8000.00 and hopefully they'll think they got an amazing deal.

This question seems to come up all the time. Is it possible to stick this somewhere in techinfo or something, that it's not worth anything extra for being 40th anniversary? It's such a simple answer but this question seem to ALWAYS be here. It's right up there with "Can I put a supercharged engine in my nonsupercharged Bonneville?" and "My nonsupercharged Bonneville is leaking coolant into my oil pan, what could it be?".

I just find it annoying, so I thought I'd suggest it.

Anyone?
