Does the L36 and the L67 use the same flexplate?

from intense-racing.com

The Drilled Stock L67/L32 Flexplate is a stock L67/L32 flexplate modified for use with an ATI 245mm Street/Strip Heavy Duty Torque Converter or other 245mm torque converter on an L67/L32 powered vehicle. This flexplate has the correct bolt pattern drilled for the smaller converter and retains full factory balance.

Stock they do not. L67's have a 258mm TC and L36's have a 245mm TC, and are only drilled for their application, AFAIK. Also, i think they're balanced differently.

The balance is what I'm wondering about. I just want to know if they share the same balance, not concerned about the converter bolt holes. Sorry, I should have specified that right away.

I would run the proper flexplate. I think they're balanced differently.

Probably balanced differently, 67 runs diff rods and pistons than 36.

I was afraid of that. I'm asking because I want to run a 3800 camaro flywheel on my L67 for the F40 manual 6 speed. The camaro 3800 (w/manual trans) was vin K, so I was wondering if the balance on the flywheel would be the same for the L67 vin 1. I asked the internet and it said it was OK, but I don't think anyone has actually verified the balance. I think it is close, but probably not exact. Beings the L67 was never mated to a manual trans, I need to find a flywheel for something else and use it. The 3800 camaro is the only thing close enough to work, but I believe the balance is off. Anyone know of a company that can mirror balance a flywheel to a flexplate?

Now youre mixing apples and oranges. Someone did a manual trans conversion on here, anyone remember who that was?

Wasn't rad talking about it?

Has anyone else done this same swap on a Fiero forum?

I have read articles on a converted LeSabre, Grand Prix and a couple of Fieros, but none of them verify the balance. They all just say "it fits and works". Some have reported many hard miles with no issues, some say there is no abnormal vibrations, but none have actually verified the balance with any type of logic or testing. Not that I expect anyone to do the testing for me, I was just hoping someone already has :)

Maybe I should talk to Andrew to see about getting an L36 flexplate for comparison purposes?

I know for a fact that an L36 flexplate is different than an L67.

OK. Thanks everyone for your input. Andrew, do you have an L36 flexplate for sale? Also, I need an L67 knock sensor. The knock sensor has nothing to do with the flexplate, I donated one of mine and just need a replacement. Knock sensor for an L67 and flexplate for an L36. I just want the 36 flexplate for comparison, so it could even be a bad one with busted/stripped ring gear teeth or even a cracked one.

Harmonic balancers are diff, AC DELCOS at RockAuto have diff part numbers.

The balancer would be different due to the extra pulley for the supercharger.

For the purpose of hooking up a clutch, the F-Body 3800 flywheel is correct. Both engines are internally balanced and don't need any extra mass on the flywheel to balance the engine. The crank has enough mass in it's counter balances to accommodate the extra weight of the pistons and rods, plus a different counter-balance shaft.

I do not have an L36 flexplate, I do have an L67 knock sensor.

I don't know about that? The L67 flexplate has weight removed on one end and weight added on the opposite end. The camaro flywheel has some weight removed on one end.
