I have to fix my front engine mount again and I put the ebrake on. But when I released it the light was still on indicating it was on. so I pulled on the brake pedal and it popped up. But I can fell that the brake is still engaged because when I back up it feels tight then when I drive forward, my back end drops down. I tried pushing on the ebrake again, and now it won't move. How do I fix this?

Have you tired applying and releasing the parking brake several times? Is the cable stuck? If you reach under the driver side of the car, is the cable have any slack in it?

i moved the pedal back and forth a bunch of times but it doesn't do anything. The cable for what there is to grab is tight with very little slack.

and i just barely touch the brake and the light comes on (don't know if that's just the trigger switch being activated or not though)

the peddle only moves about half an inch, even when trying to push it with my foot.

When is the last time you used your parking brake? Sounds like it froze up to me and the return springs can't overcome the resistance.

Nevermind, I fixed it. I raised the rear of the car up and played with the ebrake. the tension released from the tires being off the ground released the brake. Drove it back and forth and tried the brake. It works fine now.
