Ok, well I was trying to take my injector harness off for the UIM change, and I pulled one of the wires to the harness out of one of the injector connectors. What can I do? Am I screwed?

Pics might help to better describe...but can't you just clip the connector pieces back into the clip? There was obviously a way to connect the connectors and clip originally, so just take out the metal connector and either crimp or solder it back in. But umm, maybe pics first...

I think we're probably going to solder it whenever we get a chance. The Dalton family is so great for letting me keep their car in their garage this week, so I'll probably just hold out until the weekend until I can grab that part... And I don't really have a way to post pics just yet...

Basically, the wire broke at the metal crimp inside the weather-tight connector. We checked with all the auto parts chains, and none of them have the right pigtail for a 2000 Impala 3.8L.
So, Dad is lending him the truck until we can get a pigtail from the dealer. We'll attack the rest of the project next weekend.

I'll snip a connector off my L67 wiring harness if you are interested.

Yes, he is. I'm going to get him something special for helping me out, but I don't know what yet...

Dammit... that's the one with the metal clip. I need the more complicated one that looks like this:

Do you know how much the dealer is going to charge? I could see if I could snip one from the yard.

Rock Auto and GMPD want $19 and $9 respectively.

I think GMPD was actually 14 dollars IIRC. I still have to find out if that's with or without the pigtail...

You can fix it temporarily with two small spade connectors from radio shaq.

I'm pretty sure you could find a set of them locally at Intense. IIRC they sell them to upgrade to other injectors from the older style like Haro's picture.

Ours would have a female connection on the end, he needs the male.

Okey dokey, we got everything buttoned up, but now it won't stay running. It'll start up perfectly, but when the RPMs come down it dies. It sounds perfectly on start up... Any ideas?

We just checked all the hoses, all seems fine... Little more detail... It starts up and runs a TON better than it used to, and then it dies sometimes with a backfire. Holding the throttle still stalls it...
