Year and Trim: 2000 Bonneville SSEI
Hello everyone.
I've got a 2000 SSEi. Had it for about 7 months and put roughly 11,000 miles on it so far. Had no leaks and runs great. Yesterday I opened the hood to check the fluids and noticed oil slung on the inside of the engine bay but only up front PAST THE BELTS. Noticed the supercharger pully was wet around the retaining bolt. I know this also has a small hole to relieve pressure if overfilled. Never changed the supercharger oil because it was clean and full when I bought the car but never leaked out either. Now I have supercharger oil all over the pully and being slung around the engine bay.
So I'm thinking the snout seal is bad but doesn't make sense to me because the inside of the pully has no sign of oil on it, only the outside. Not sure how the oil is only leaking to the outside of the pully.
Am I missing something? Not sure if the snout seal needs replaced, the snout itself needs to be replaced, or if there is an underlying issue I'm unaware of that is causing excessive pressure and pushing the oil past the seal.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the oil level to confirm oil is in fact missing?

Yes. Oil level is lower that when I checked it before. I checked it about two weeks before I noticed the leak. It's lower than before but still seems like an adequate amount. No unusual noises I would expect to hear if the oil was too low.

there is a seal on the end of the supercharger snout.. I dont know what is involved with resealing it.. might contact ZZP they have M90 parts. Or another option is get a hold of a 2nd hand one in good shape and swap the snout (i would do the coupler at the same time for either repair). if you PM "harofreak00" i'm sure can work you a deal out a deal on a snout. I just gave my old Gen 3 away so i dont have one laying around anymore.
