When should this be changed? I don't think its ever been done on my car since I have had it, it may sound stupid but I didn't know it had to be done. Any more info would be nice!

According to the owners manual it looks like they suggest you check and fill the oil level every 30k miles or 36 months. I'd use that as a guideline.

Your coupler and SC bearing will fail.

It smells rank!

What if your pulley tensioners both fail does that mean u need to change the oil for the SC and nose part. How much does it cost for the SC oil to buy and for a mechanic to install it for me.

Sc oil is cheap. Part number #12345982 at any dealer. They are like $10 a bottle usually. You will need 2 bottles for an M90.

Or you can get the INTENSE SC oil. $7.49 for a 8oz bottle (twice the GM bottles, so you only need 1 bottle).... shipping will get ya though.

http://intense-racing.com/Merchant2/mer ... _Induction

Don't pay a mechanic to do it. Take out the fill-hole bolt with an allen wrench. Use an old spray bottle to suck the old oil, and spray it into the spray bottle. Then refill it with the new oil just to the threads of the hole.

FYI Harofreak u must not know about the two differnet parts of the SC. if you refer to this thread viewforum.php?f=56 and see, that if your not going to flush the cone u only need 1 and its more then enough.

""""1.Go to the Pontiac dealer and buy 2 bottles of Supercharger Oil P/N 10953513. If you're not going to flush the cone, one bottle will be more than enough."""

I am fully aware about the different parts of a SC.

Series 1 M62's (92-95) use 1 bottle of SC oil
Series 2 M90's (96-03) use 2 bottles of SC oil

That techinfo is for Series 1. If you are doing a true "flush", then you empty out the nosedrive, fill it until full, run it for a while, and then drain again and fill again. Hence the "flush".

New oil. Would you ever put used oil back into an engine?

To get out any remaining metal shavings if there are any. If you don't want to do the flush, then don't do it.

The SC oil is clear. If you put it in, run it for 100 miles, and it comes out black, you have a problem.

00, there are specific reasons that article was written like that. You can't get ALL the oil out the hole. You put more in and run it to stir up the metal particles in what you couldn't get. Flushing it allows those particles to become re-suspended in the oil so you can extract them. The flush is optional, not required. Those that CARE do it if they CHOOSE.

FLUSH. The term means alot if you think about it, and I wrote that article and suggestion for several very good reasons.

Instead of rudely condemning it, maybe you should ASK why the flush is suggested on high-mileage superchargers?
