Hi all, I have been searching the web all day and was unable to find a difinitive answer, since the gen v is an eaton and that's what all Bonnie's run is it possible to run a gen v supercharger on a 93 ssei? I'm assuming if it is possible it won't be as simple as just bolt on and go, there will be some kind of conversion but what I'm just trying to find out if it is even possible. (Quick question, where would I even go to get it installed because I know my regular mechanic wont touch superchargers)

Gen V m90? Easy answer: no. Too wide for the LIM and the snout is a different size.

So there isn't even a way to convert it? No need to elaborate, a simple yes or no will suffice, thanks

Anything is possible with enough money.

But.. without an expensive 1-off machined adapter plate, custom fuel rails, etc. etc. nope.

The best bolt on upgrade you could do is the gen 3 M62 from the 94-95 L67s.

Edit* But....it would require you to use the 94-95 throttle body, air filter housing(or go FWI/CAI), MAF, and FPR. You would also have the option of using your stock pulley on the gen 3 for about 11-12 pounds of boost. That would require you to have the prom re-flashed though.

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but something occurred to me after reading this last response...
I'm doing the gen3 upgrade on my 92 engine in my Fiero, already have the blower, TB, etc... even have the 94 PCM from an SSEi and I repinned the wiring harness to work with it...
My question is this:
What is the difference with the FPR? is there something special about the 94/95 version that's different from the 92/93 version? that was one thing I didn't know to grab last summer when I got the PCM and pigtails, am I gonna have issues here?

The 92/93 FPR actually has a higher pressure rating than 94/95. 3.0 bar vs 2.7 bar, if I remember right. The 92/93 FPR will probably help keep the fuel trims from going lean. I'd keep it, but maybe prepare to try a 94/95 if things don't act quite right

I've found this combination works reasonably well:
92 Engine/trans/PCM
Hypertech Thermomaster chip
Series II L67 FPR and injectors
94/95 M62, TB, MAF

For years, I tried using a MiniAFC to account for the air flow difference. I had varying degrees of success, but I could never seem to keep it dialed in long term, and they never seemed to live very long, leading to a handful purchased over the years. When I switched to the Series II injectors, I found I could ditch the MiniAFC and the fuel trims evened out pretty well.

kool, thanks for the quick response J...
so I should be fine with the setup I have then... eventually I'm going for bigger power from this engine, but in the meantime I'm just looking to have it run properly with the gen3 blower and gen2 pulley. Is there anything else I should be looking at with that setup, like injectors or other issues? and with the 94 PCM, is there anything I would need to change in the programming? I am equipped to do custom chips for OBD1, so I can do my own tuning as required, I just need to know where to look at, lol

The crank sensor may not be compatible with a 94 pcm, I'm not sure. You will probably find that the EGR tube isn't a good fit into the SC, so have some high temp RTV and/or a way to make a gasket for it. I used an EGR base gasket, cut the extra off, and used some RTV in an attempt to seal it. It works. Another possibility would be to get the exhaust manifolds off a 94/95, EGR base and tubes. I think, but not positive, but the 92 EGR might mount to the 94/95 base. It's been years since I looked at that, but I was thinking the EGR style changed, but mounted the same. But they monkeyed with how the base and tubes mount to the exhaust manifold and SC so it's not easy to mix and match. Or, if you're customizing the PCM, you can just delete it and cap it off.

yah, I'm doing custom dual exhaust, and the EGR will be gone either way... the EGR port will just be blocked off right on the blower. there's no crossover pipe to even have the EGR attached to (the crossover doesn't fit with the Muncie tranny that's in the car, so I can't even use the original exhaust setup).
as far as I know the crank sensor is the same, but as long as it's still compatible with the PCM, it should be OK... I'm still using the modified 92 wiring harness, so even if the connector was different, I'm using the 92 connector, so it plugs in anyways...

Let me backtrack on the crank sensor. I think it might have been the pattern of slots on the harmonic balancer rings that was different. It would be a problem, if I'm right. I do see that the 92 balancer part number is unique from 93-95. Similar story with the sensor, 92 part number is different than 93/94 or 95. I guess that doesn't prove they won't work, but something is different.

yes, crank sensor is something to take into consideration. IF the tooth count for the reluctor is not the same as the computer, it's not going to synchronize fuel injector and ignition timing properly ( or at all ). You'd have to change out the parts to fit the computer, or change the computer to fit the parts.
