on my 2000 the boost control solenoid has 3 places for a vacuum hose connection. One of the ports on my car i just noticed is not connected to a vacuuum source. does this mean that i have had no supercharger boost? I noticed that my boost gauge only goes to about 3 psi when you punch it. Can the missing hose come form any vacuum source? Possibly it was faulty thats why it was not connected properly. The GM service manual does not give a specific test procedure for this component is there one? How much actual boost should the car have mine appears a little sluggish for its horsepower rating. Thanks for your replies.

I have heard that the solenoid needs to be replaced if having the symptoms you are. But IDK for sure....gearheads? certified bonne nuts? anyone else?

That port is supposed to have nothing on it. Its a vent. It actually came from the factory with a small piece of foam covering it, but that doesnt stay on long.

You should be getting 6-7 psi.

Take the vac line off the bottom of the Boost Control Actuator (round thing) and test drive it.

You should hit about 3/4 on your boost guage stock which would be about 7 psi.
There is that vent hole but it doesn't effect much.

Describe sluggish a bit better?
