OK..... I am quite miffed at this. I have attempted to use L67 coils on my L32 in the past with out having used the L67 ignition module. In the past, I have encountered the problems of random misfire, making the SES light flash briefly, to having the one of the coils fail.

Here recently, I pulled coils from an L67 and the ICM. Sure, they did good at first until I was at operating temp for a while and under hard throttle.... THAT'S when the random misfire started again. I am literally here.

Like.... WTF am I doing wrong?? I please would like some answers regarding this. The stock coils do fine in the car. I have AC Delco wires with NGK TR55 V-Power plugs

And here I thought that the L67 coils would work for hotter spark.... SIGHS.... guess I was wrong.

Any problems in coil swapping are probably issues with the coil.

IIRC the hotter coils have blue at the underside slots that plug into the ICM. I think L67 coils were hotter and then at some point all the S3 coils were the same.

Could it possibly be voltage bleed off that can cause the problem? Or maybe I should just get some ZZP coils?

There's no difference with the ICMs that I'm aware of. What do you mean voltage bleed off?

OEM coils have the best track record but they're aging at this point. No idea if the ZZP coils have enough data points to prove longevity. I would still use used OEM coils from a S3 since previous aftermarket coils have shown to fail prematurely. (MSD/Accell)

I had $10 cheapo Amazon coils work fine for 4 years. Upgraded to the $30 OEM ACDelcos and never looked back.

ZZP's coils have not had a great reputation in the 3800 community in my memory.
