As I remember on the 2005 SE Bonneville, there are two tail lamps on each side, one brake lamp on each side, and two turn lamps on each side. If I'm correct, the tail lamp/turn lamp is a single filament bulb, the tail lamp/brake lamp/turn lamp is a dual filament bulb. I'm wanting to change the socket and wiring on the outside tail lamp/turn lamp bulb. I'm tired of burning through brake lamps. The '92 had dual brake lamps on each side and the bulbs lasted a lot longer. and I'm in no hurry to spend a ton of money (in my opinion) converting to LED as at the moment I need to put the funds to use somewhere else.

The turn signal is a lamp (single filament) on its own on the top, outer portion of the housing beside each respective reverse lamp. It is completely independent of the tail/brake lamp bulbs in location and operation. There are two tail/brake lamp (dual filament) bulbs on the lower portion of the housing that operate together. There is also a 194 marker lamp on the lower, outside of each lamp assembly. In my opinion, you need to purchase a decent quality "Long Life" bulb. Not all bulbs have the long-life designation.
