drivers door control switch that works the windows and seat memory got wet when I left the window open in rain-- cost me 100 bones for another one. I decided that this will not happen again.I cant prevent being forgetful or stupid so I got a clear plastic bag and put the module in it and then put the plastic piece on- used a bread twist tie to fasten to connector wires so I believe I have stupid proofed the part but am afraid to test it with water.Seems to work so far- its been a year!!!

Where did the water deflector go that came with the door?

Have a look through this thread... These keep the interior components dry as long as they are intact and sealed properly.

Hi, thanks for the info but there is no problem of water getting in when window is closed
I am talking about the door mounted arm rest that holds the switch to control the windows/mirrors
I sits in the arm rest on the door-- it is that which got wet and caused grief

I left the window open in rain!!! :banghead: thats what killed it so I bagged it to keep dry

I'll try to post pics in time.............thanks

I see. I try to keep my windows closed in the rain LOL. I thought the water was getting in from behind the door panel and causing problems. I've seen more than one technician discount the importance of these and either cut a big hole in the middle or just tear them out entirely.
