Hey guys, went to go start up the lss yesterday and discovered that all my gauges aren't moving only one that reads but is still wrong is my fuel gauge. the PRND12 is gone , along with the odo. also the shifter light on the console stays light up P no matter what the shifter is in N D R 1 2 etc.

is it a coincidence that it got extremely cold here yesterday temperatures are way below zero farenheit or am i looking at something else maybe some lose connection? or ground? :sadeyz: I hope i can figure it out soon it being my dd i have resorted to the aeroforce for my speed for now

I would suggest removing the cluster and re-installing after checking all the connections. But it's weird that the console gear indicator isn't moving.

Does the car drive fine beyond that?

yes the car drives fine, overkill (will) mentioned something a while ago when i got my tune about some kind of problem with the gauges apparently its bad in impalas that when the gauges go bad the car wont start because of some theft protection? i hope that's not the case because i think that has something to do with the lock cylinder. i guess il give the dash a unplug - replug and check all the grounds etc. will report back after

It has been a while, but ins't the indicator on the floor mechanical? It just moves a mask back and forth and leaves the selected gear translucent? Again, It has been a long time, I may not be remembering correctly

I'm not sure if the console light is controlled by a fuse il try and scavengethe interwebs for a wiring diagram. on another note i was driving the car later that day (thank god for the aeroforce being able to read speed ) and the turn signals stopped working. They just stay illuminated almost like the fuse broke even though I had just put a brand new one in because my old one stopped working. when I got home I ripped the dash apart, took apart the cluster cleaned it and the terminals and inspected it to the best of my ability. everything seem to check out so I plugged everything back in and my turn signals started to work again but my gauges are still dead, except the fuel gauge wanders around now :bluetwitch:

going to the wreckers this weekend to get a "new cluster" if that doesn't work i know I'm in deep

I reaallyy hate working on the car when its -5 Fahrenheit. electrical stuff makes me cringe :(

good news everyone problem has been solved !!! went snooping around behind the fuse block in the left passenger foot well and discovered the wires going to the ign/off fuse was disconnected. with some patience and a soldering iron my gauges are alive again.

and my prnd12 light is functioning correctly
