Hi all,

Just purchased a 1997 Bonneville SE - love the car and just working through a few minor issues. The primary one being that the heat/air only blows through the windshield/defrost vents. I cannot get it to blow out the front driver/passenger vents. Here's a video showing what's going on:

Sounds like a vaccum leak check your vacuum lines near the heater box in the engine compartment, iirc those exact lines are near the break booster on the firewall.

Finally got around to diagnosing and fixing this issue. Turns out it was the infamous "soft & collapsed nipple" issue that seems so common here on the forum. I cannot for the life of me figure out why on earth such a design was put into production. Anyway, I cut out the nipple connector, spliced the five vacuum lines together with 1/8" hose and voila! I now have complete control of where the air vents to. Major thanks to this forum and all the great members posting invaluable info! On to my next issue in another thread!
