HI GEARHEADS,
WELL I HAVE A 2000 BONNEVILLE WITH THE 3800 GEN TWO ENGINE , AND IAM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH HESITATION AT RED LIGHTS AND WHEN IAM ON THE HIGHWAY BUT NOT TO OFTEN ON THE HIGHWAY BUT IN TOWN ITS ANNOYING AS HELL. I HAD A (MAFS) CODE GO OFF SO THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR AND THEN IT WOULDNT EVEN IDLE AT ALL, SO THEY CLEANED UP THE OLD ONE AND PUT IT BACK IN AND CLEARED ALL THE CODES AND WE STARTED THE CAR AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP! BUT I TOOK IT FOR A DRIVE AND EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO THE SAME THING!! HESITATION :banghead: IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP?

First of all, can you please turn your caps lock off. In internet laguage that is like yelling.

Next, please go to the local auto parts store and have the codes read. Come back here and use the techinfo section to look uo any codes and repost what you have.

Once you get the codes, have them cleared and check again after a little driving and see if any have returned.

We can proceed from there.

Hey there (myfirstbonnie) i went and got those codes and they just keep coming up the same , which is ( P0102B-mass air flow sensor circuit low frequency ) anyway i did what you asked so let me know what you think, also it has been running not all that bad but the odd hesitation still drives me insane , i need it to purr like a kitten. please help :banghead:

Unplug the electrical connector from the MAF sensor and leave it unplugged. Drive it and see if it gets any better.

The MAF they replaced, was it a remanufactured one?

They said that it was an AC Delco brand new! but i will try what you said and we will go from there!

Hey there (myfirstbonnie) I did what you said and the car worked like new, by unpluging the MAF sensor so can i run the car like this for awhile or is it going to screw something up or what and what do i do now to fix the car properly!! :hail:

Replace the maf sensor. Leave the battery unplugged overnight. It will take a little while to learn the new maf.
