Year and Trim: 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI
I was wondering where the BCM module is located? I've been told it is around the glove box area and when I took the glove box apart I didn't see it. I have a 1998 bonneville SSEI and I also attempted to look for the BCM module underneath the black cover down where the passenger's leg/feet area is. Did I not go far enough? I'm not sure what where to look. Any pictures or diagrams would be helpful.

Thanks

you are in the right area....its a black box (with round slots for speaker) located on a large white plastic mounting bracket...located on the firewall behind the glove box... and maybe ductwork... it has 2 plugs on it....small plug has several orange wires, black, white, gray and tan wires.... the large plug has tan, dk blue, lt grn/blk, org/blk, red/blk, lt blue, purple, pink, yellow, green/white, lt green, tan/white wires...

sorry i dont have a pic or diagram to post. hope this helps.

Hello;

I found what looks like a fuse box with wires sticking out, and the only way I can access it is from the floor. Do I pull out the bcm from the floor access panel? Because the glove box has no "easy access" to anything. I'l post a pic in a few.

Thanks
-Cosmic

Found the BCM module! You do not need to take apart the Glove box to get to it. It is underneath the passangers seat leg area on the far back wall. The problem now is that all the numbers are "worn off" the sheet of paper on the front of the box. Does it matter if I get an aftermarket BCM module for the same year/make from an autoparts store?

Went to a wrecking yard which happened to have a 1998 Bonneville SSE car. I pulled the part, paid $50 and All my problems are solved! Thank you for your help!

Glad to see you got it fixed. FWIW, I don't think there are aftermarked BCM's...
