Year and Trim: 2004 Bonneville
I am a new member and I hope someone can help. My GPS has stopped charging in my 2004 Bonneville. It is not the GPS, it works fine in my husbands car although it was totally dead (not charging while in my Bonneville). My husband installed an after market cigarette lighter because the original one was a very loose connection and he thought that was the problem. He tested with a meter and had the 12 volts. I went on a 300 mile trip and after about 250 miles, the GPS died again (I guess it is not charging even though the light is ON the adapter). To be sure it was not my GPS, I used my husbands GPS for my next trip and the same exact thing happened.
So the cigarette lighter appears to have 12 volts and when I plug in a GPS the light on the adapter comes on, but several hours later, the light goes off and the GPS turns off and will not come back on. We checked the fuse, it is fine. Any ideas?
Thank you, Mary

Do you have the AUX plug-in on the passenger side of the console?

And please dont double post!! Either this or your other post will be locked.

Ok, this is my first time on this site so I wasn't sure where to post my question.
No there is no AUX pluggin in the center console. The cigarette lighter is in the asstray under the radio.

Ive got a similar issue, but mine never work. All fuses are good but the outlets dont work.. i had a phone charger that had a short and blew a differennt cars fuse, but none of mine are blown. Curious to se if we have the same issue.

On my '02 SLE I had a similar issue however it was my cig lighter itself was bad altogether and it will drag the whole circuit down with it. however mine has an auxillary one and it works fine and it is on the rear part of the console for easy access to the back seat...
