I have a 2001 Bonneville, electrical problem, the security light turns on and off while Im driving. My doors will lock and unlock along with the interior lights will come one and the sterio will shut off and wont come back on. I took it into the shop and had it checked out. They could not find anything, they told me that until it was happening when they were testing it that they could not diagnose it for me and that I would have to wait for it to finally breakdown before I would be able to get it fixed. I have two small children, i cant wait for that to happen. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?

I know this is an old post but I figured I should post the solution in case anyone else has this problem and checks the forum. This happens when you have a bad ignition switch. I know because I had the exact same thing happen to me. Your car will still run when this happens but there is a loose connection or something in the switch that thinks that you are turning your ignition off and on. That's why your locks, security light, interior lights, and stereo will go off and on while you are driving.

I always appreciate when someone adds info to any post that had no solution.
