I was wondering what would be a good battery size for a 96 se? I want to make sure i get one that will be able to handle having subs and neons without draining. But i also dont want to pay for a super exspenive optima battery. So any ideas?

Unfortunately for you, being in Iowa you need more CCA than most (as well as waterproof apparently). You'll pay more for the CCA rating as a result to begin with.

With what you have in mind, I'd tell you to save up and buy an 800 CCA Optima. Wait until you can afford it. It's worth it, particularly with your criteria. (red top, not a yellow top)

Duralast is duracrap. Made in China by the lowest bidder using slave labor and children.

They have no comparison to optima in design, performance, or anything else. They COPY the look to gain recognition.

BUT, they have a great and easy warranty program. I'd buy Duralast.

Especially since I know you need a battery NOW, not later.
