Hi all my wife has a 03 se that died in the driveway yesterday.
I had recently put a new battery in so I thought it was something more complicated.I started doing some tests for voltage while my neighbor came over to help. Turned out battery had a bad cell replaced it. But I don't think my neighbor got all the relays back in right. Wipers don't work traction off lite is on. Does anyone have pics of the under seat and under hood fuse boxes so I can make sure they are installed correctly I know he moved a bunch of them around and i am more than a little concerned. Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Tom C

Under the cover of each fuse block should be a diagram attached showing the location of the fuses and relays.

Also post a picture of the layout under the cover as there may be some differences between the 2000s and 2003s.

Thanks, I have the owners manual and the covers help, but I am more concerned with the way that the relays face as they can be put in upside down and what effect that would have. I don't want to damage anything. How do you post pics?

The relays are designed and wired in so that it doesn't matter which way it is inserted in the fuse block.

Edit - This explains how to post pictures.

Archon Thanks for the link to the posting of pics I will post a few tonight.
Are you sure about the relays? The way I understand a relay works is it is supplied with power to feed power out of another terminal. so if it was 180 degrees off I couldn't see it working correctly. Maybe I'm just not understanding it correctly... Update, I found out why the wipers weren't working, the relay was out of place 1 set of pins off. So now it's just the traction control switch not turning on and my wife said something about the radio presets in the steering wheel.I will post pics when she gets home. I am glad I found this forum.
Thanks again,
Tom C

A relay works by energizing a coil through two of the terminals. This creates an electrical magnet & closes a set of contacts which then completes the circuit on the other set of terminals. The two terminals for energizing the coil are on a diagonal from each other (as are the other two terminals) so it doesn't matter which way the relay is installed.

Mechanical Mike
Thanks for helping clarify that. After checking all the fuses and relays everything seems to be working except the radio presets on the steering wheel. They work fine on the radio so I'm not really concerned. I'm thankful to all for the help and glad I found this forum.

Also, most of the relays on these cars have an odd number of prongs, so there is only one possible way to install them.
