So I know this probably isn't an electrical problem--but this was the most recently posted on forum :) Thanks for the help...

The check engine light came on in my 2001 last night, and I am way too busy to make it into the mechanic right now...I have about an hour of driving a day coming up for the next 4 days...is this serious enough that I shouldn't be driving the car? Or is it safe to continue driving for a while until I can get into the shop?

Thanks.

Could be serious, could not be serious... no way to know unless you get the code.

Just stop by a parts store and have them scan the car. They can get the code and you will be in out of there faster than it took to create this topic.

If you just filled the gas tank about 150-180mi ago and it came on I assume it is a loose gas cap. But make sure to get the codes to be sure.

There is no way to tell for sure until you get the code.
