Hi All

I was driving to work today and all my gauges started going crazy (compass, gas, oil, boost, driver info, temp) then they just stopped working but when I shut my car off and turned it back on they worked fine. What would cause this type of problem?

Thanks Keith

Loose wiring harness, goofy ground connection, or failing cluster.

Gauges are still going crazy after looking at every thing. But i did find a new used cluster at the junk yard. Now is there ant differances between years gauge wise? Because the cluster i found i think is out of a 93 or 94.

93 should be the same and work fine, but I think 94+ has different wiring...? 94 has at least a higher indicated red line.

94 and up clusters for SSE/Ei have the self-calibrating, 1 button compasses. 93's have two buttons compasses.

So I still havent got a new cluster yet. It was working fine for a while so I thought it fixed it self but I was wrong. Now above was said check for loose connections I checked the cluster connections and there were good. Where else should I look for loose connections?

Thanks Keith

I checked the circuitboard and it all looks good. Where else would I look for a loose connection?

Thanks Keith

I fixed one on a '93 by resoldering the connections where the boards connect together, as well as any solder joints that held large components.
