W, to answer your question:

a. I had my entire system flushed out last year (including heater core) and refilled with the green antifreeze. I have since flushed it again this past November (I usually do it twice a year).
b. I used the Dorman UIM setup because, according to my mechanic, the aftermarket Dorman was just as durable as the Delco design, also it already came with all the necessary hardware, whereas with the Delco, I'd have to search for all the other materials (o-rings, gasket, etc).
c. I did not have the LIM gaskets changed as I was told the bottom half of the intake (including gaskets) was aluminum already, so there was no reason to change them.

a: make sure he did not put back in the oragne Dexkill
b: the apn kit is far better for the L36 vehicles, like the one i linked you, it has the steel sleeved EGR port
c: the LIM is in fact aluminum, but the gaskets need to be aluminum framed, if they are, then they were done before.

he did not put back in Dexcool, I did check afterwards, so I can confirm that.

I did not actually get the chance to see the replacement UIM out of the box, but was assured that it was a far better design than the original pulled out.

I have and forgot to say thank you. Maybe sometime with the next weekend or so (if the weather cooperates), we can get that done. I can give you a buzz during the week sometime.
