Its gonna be 55 degrees saturday and i have a date with the car to clean her up a bit. I cant wait for spring soon enough. :)

THe interior could use a carpet cleaning and im wondering if any owners with cloth seats have tried any products to clean up their cloth seats. Or, has anyone tried using a portable carpet cleaner before on their interior to get the car lookin good on the inside as well as the outside.

thanks

I have used my little green machine by bissell. You want to make sure you have good enough weather for them to dry. It might take awhile if it is cool.

spray some Tuff Stuff, scrub the fabric with a brush, & then use the absorber towel to grab the dirt out of the fabric. I use a bucket with clean water to clean the absorber every time I wipe a part of the interior. & the water gets dirty very fast, so you must change it a lot. hope this helps.

The most important thing in cleaning carpet or upholstery with a consumer-level machine is removing the excess water. Failure to do so leaves a dull appearance from the detergents used , and can lead to water damage. This time of year is dicey.

I'd suggest that you mix up some laundry detergent and a little Oxi-Clean in a bucket of hot water. Don't go too heavy on the cleaning agents. they are concentrated in the bucket, a little will go a long way. Get some clean micro-fiber towels, and scrub the upholstery with this mixture, concentrating on heavily soiled areas first. Do one area (setback, door panel, etc.) at a time. When you're satisfied with the result, take another micro-fiber that has been dipped in clean water and go over the area and scrub away as much soap residue as possible. Then take a dry micro-fiber to that section to remove all the excess water you can.

Same procedure for carpeting, but you can use a stiff upholstery brush to clean with. If you have a shop vac, vac it after you're done to remove water. Make sure it is thoroughly vacuumed before you begin.

i went to wal-mart and picked up a yellow bottle of this cloth cleaner spray with a brush attached to the nozzle, it worked great :-)

to much water is a bad thing. it can loosen and stretch the fabric.
55 degrees is nice, but I would wait till it gets warmer, your going to want it to air dry in the sun for a spell.

and if you or a friend don't have a carpet extractor you could always rent one at a tool rental place. maybe they will have one for furniture, its basically a smaller version but works well.
