How hard is it to remove the side cladding on the doors? My passenger front door the cladding is popped off at the top front corner. I see there is a couple studs there. Also see some screws in the door flanges. Do you just remove the screws and pop the cladding off? This on my 98 Olds 88. I don't think I'll be putting it back on.

Providing the cladding is the same as the 92-99 era Bonnevilles I have worked on....

There are usually 2 screws on the end of the door that hold the panel on, access them from the back of the door. Then release the bottom clips and slide the panel straight up.

Thanks, cladding came off like you said. I like it better with it off. Glad I took it off, the paint is peeling and rusting around some of the studs. Now I have to grind off the studs, prime and paint from the body line down.

I removed all the cladding on my 94 SSEi and that's what I found too. VERY light rust though, so it was easy to touch up with some POR-15 and touch up paint.
