I was looking at willwren's car and was realizing I thought putting an emblem on my insulator too would be cool, do I need some special paint or will normal spray paint work (I need to paint the whole thing a fresh black so it looks good again)? Secondly, heres a pic, anyone see anything that I may need to do in order first before painting the insulator and the emblem?

Maybe instead of painting it back, get a large sheet of Black fabric, and some spray glue, and re cover it, then you'll have a much better base for painting on an emblem.

3M adheasive spray, its in the Green can at Home Depot or most automotive stores.
Spray entire surface that you wish to cover, I belive it has to set for a minute or two (read the can) then apply, once its on, its on, this stuff will take engine heat, water, and all the elements.

You want a durable fabric like canvas duck, or twill.
About $5 a sq yd.

Depends on how wide the fabric comes on the roll. MEASURE YOUR hoodliner. Take those measurements to the fabric store and buy enough length to cover your liner. Buy enough to wrap around the edges of your stock hoodliner. Consider hemming the edges to prevent fraying. If you do that, add another couple inches all the way around.

Any fabric store should carry canvas or duck. ANY fabric store.
