Don't get me wrong, I really like the liquid glass, but I was wondering the other day how does one remove it? On the back of the can, it says something about sanding... I think thats a little extreme.

You could try alachol but ai would not recommend that.

The only way that will remove LG is to use a buffer and buffing compound.

Dish soap will remove wax, but Liquid Glass is a sealant, not a wax. They basically do the same thing, but a sealant is synthetic, and a wax is natural.

So why would someone use this on top of paint? if the clear is gone?

Because it basically does the same thing as wax. Many detail pros think that a sealant doesn't give the warm look that a true carnuba wax does though. A sealant will last much longer then a wax on the other hand, six months or more for a good one, when a wax will last a week to a month.

Also, in the south, it gets hot enough to literally melt a wax off of a car, so sealants are used more then wax for those in the know.

Many people will actually refer to a sealant as a wax, but if it is synthetic, it is a sealant and not a wax. Not a big deal, and most people wouldn't know the difference, but now you know

LG is an EXCELLENT sealant/protectant that can simulate a 'bogus' clearcoat for about 6 months. It's also great over good-condition factory clear.

It's ALSO great as a sealer under your favorite wax, but many of us here use LG alone. I do that, and I'm quite pleased with it.

See 'long-term wax test' in this section. I moved it over from BC. (probably on the last page of this section).
